Mark is a senior private equity and corporate finance executive with 30+ years of experience developing, evaluating, negotiating and closing deals. Prior to joining RLG Capital, Mark was a managing director at Sentry Financial where he co-led the Sustainable Investments practice, sourcing investment opportunities in energy efficiency, renewable energy, battery storage, water technology, waste to value, Ag-tech, alternative fuels, distributed hydro and wave/tidal energy. He also developed “As a Service” financing opportunities and programs.
Mark served as the Chief Financial Officer for Enhanced Clean Fuels (ECF), a clean energy project development and financing business funded by Sentry and other institutional investors. ECF's mission was to become a leading investor and owner of small scale GTL plants in North America leveraging the explosion of unconventional shale gas discoveries in North America to convert lower cost natural gas into clean liquid transportation fuels and high value solvents and waxes. Prior to Sentry, Mark was the Founder & Managing Partner of Cornerstone Capital Group, a private equity fund focused on investing in growth-stage technology companies and mid-market operating company buyouts. Mark also served as Chief Financial Officer for one of Cornerstone’s portfolio companies. Prior to Cornerstone, Mark worked in the investment banking industry where he provided financial advisory, capital placement and M&A advisory services to mid-market companies. Mark began his career with American Express and PepsiCo where he helped launch several products and businesses, and provided advisory services to the CEO and CFO on strategic planning, business development, and M&A initiatives. Mark began work with RLG Capital as an operating partner and joined as a Partner and CFO in March 2018. He currently serves on the boards of HealthyYOU Vending and eLearning Brothers. Mark has served in a number of church, community and non-profit capacities including the Boy Scouts of America. Mark earned a BS in Finance cum laude from the University of Utah, where he was the Student Body President, and an MBA from Harvard University. Married for 35 years, he and his wife Sarah have three children and three grandchildren.
